Learn how to use the Dreamfarm Winopen automatic wine opener with these simple steps. Open wine effortlessly with one hand, no twisting required.
Quick answer
Place the Winopen on top of the bottle, press the button, and it removes the cork automatically. Press the same button again to eject the cork—no twisting or pulling required.
Why the Winopen is different from a manual opener
The Dreamfarm Winopen is a pocket-sized automatic wine opener that handles the entire uncorking process with one button. Unlike a traditional corkscrew, you never need to twist or pull. Its compact design makes it easy to store in a drawer or take to a picnic, but the trade-off is that it requires batteries (not included) and won’t work on synthetic or plastic corks as reliably as natural ones.
Step-by-step instructions
- 1. Prepare the bottle: Remove the foil capsule from the top of the wine bottle. Make sure the cork is fully exposed and the bottle is standing upright on a flat, stable surface. A crooked bottle can make the opener slip or jam.
- 2. Position the Winopen: Hold the Winopen vertically and place its center directly over the cork. Press the opener down gently so the corkscrew aligns with the center of the cork. If the opener is tilted, the corkscrew may enter at an angle and damage the cork.
- 3. Press the button to remove the cork: Press the large button on top of the Winopen. The corkscrew will spin into the cork and then lift it out in one smooth motion. Wait until the motor stops completely before moving the opener. Do not pull the opener upward while the motor is running—let the device do the work.
- 4. Eject the cork: With the Winopen still held above the bottle, press the same button again. The corkscrew will reverse direction and push the cork out. Catch the cork with your free hand or let it drop onto a clean surface. Hold the opener away from your face when ejecting, as the cork can pop out with some force.
- 5. Clean and store: Wipe the corkscrew with a damp cloth to remove any wine residue. Store the Winopen in a dry place. Replace batteries when the motor sounds slow or struggles to remove a cork. Leaving wine residue on the corkscrew can cause it to stick or corrode over time.
